Our lab is equipped with state-of-the-art gemmological equipment. A competent team of specialists uses it to analyse gemstones and their treatments.

  • Leica high-definition precision microscope with reflected light, polarized light and transmitted light, as well as software for measuring and photographing inclusions

  • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR) for the analysis of diamonds and gemstones

  • Raman spectroscopy to analyse materials

  • Photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) for the detection of gemstone and diamond treatments

  • Fluorescence spectrometry especially for the analysis of small, set diamonds

  • UV-Vis-NIR spectrometry (spectrometry in the ultraviolet range, visible and near infrared)

  • Upgraded for testing at 77 Kelvin (minus 196 ° C) using liquid nitrogen for UV-Vis-NIR spectrometry and PL spectrometry

  • Small spot energy disersive X-ray fluorescence (ED-XRF) spectrometer for precious metal testing and gemstone analysis

  • DiamondView™ fluorescence microscope for the analysis of natural and synthetic diamonds and their treatments
